On June 18th, 2008, WE Energy filed preliminary paperwork regarding their proposed wind energy project to be located directly north of Cambria, Wisconsin. News of this proposal was first reported in stories published on Monday, August 18th.
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 – WE Energies is holding an open house regarding progress on their proposed Glacial Hills Wind Park north of Cambria. The open house runs from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Randolph Town hall in Friesland.

MADISON — The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) has postponed the Monday, July 13, 2009 Glacier Hills Wind Park public hearing until late October or early November 2009. PSC staff will bepreparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) regarding the proposed project.
Due to safety considerations, FLIGHT FOR LIFE will not land within these clusters because of the risks posed to air medical transport.
A bat mortality study supervised by U of C biology professor Robert Barclay that began in 2006 has determined that the vast majority of bats found dead below turbines near Pincher Creek suffered severe injuries to their respiratory systems consistent with a sudden drop in air pressure – called barotrauma – that occurs when the animals get close to turbine blades.
